Shelter Care Programs

Shelter Care programs are licensed Residential Child Care Facilities (RCCF’s) that are approved to provide the basic services of shelter, food, education, etc in a physically unrestricting facility pending placement of a child in a longer term or permanent least restrictive placement option. Shelter Care programs can not be on the same campus with a Qualified Residential Treatment Program (QRTP) and does count toward the total capacity for determining if a facility is designated as an Institution of Mental Disease.
